Light backgrounds
Dark backgrounds

Light dots read fine on dark backgrounds on screen, but most scanners are tuned for dark-on-light -- test before printing at volume. Scan reliability tips.

Dot colorThe color of the pattern itself. Dark on light scans most reliably; a gradient is available on the paid plans.
BackgroundThe color behind the pattern, or none at all. Keep it well clear of the code's own color, because scanners read contrast, not hue.
Eye frame colorThe three large squares' outer rings. “Match code” follows the code color, so it keeps up if you change your mind later.
Eye center colorThe solid centers of the three large squares. Coloring these differently is the smallest change that makes a code look designed.

What you will not see is a request carrying the link you typed, the contents of your code, or the image itself, because the code is drawn here on your device and there is nowhere for it to be sent.

Questions people ask before they start

Is Qordway really free?

Yes, and without an account. Every QR type, every style control and every download format works signed out, at full resolution. A free account adds a library of 25 saved codes and 2 dynamic codes; paid plans raise those limits. See what each plan includes.

Will my QR code have a watermark?

No, not on any plan, and not when you are signed out. Nothing you download carries our name. Some generators add a watermark to free downloads and then charge to remove it; we think that is a paywall around arithmetic.

Do I need an account to download a code?

No. Design it and download it as PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, PDF or EPS, including the print-ready vector formats. An account only exists so you can come back to a code later or change where a dynamic one points.

Do these codes expire?

A normal (static) code never expires. Your data is inside the code itself, so it keeps working forever and depends on nobody, including us. A dynamic code is different by design: it points at a short link we resolve, so it works for as long as the code exists on your account. On the free plan each dynamic code carries a 500-scan allowance, after which it stops forwarding until you upgrade.

Can I use a code on something I sell?

Yes. Commercial use is allowed on every plan, including the free one, with no attribution required, on products, packaging, signage or client work.

Can I change where a code points after I have printed it?

Only if you made it a dynamic code. Those encode a short link you can repoint at any time, so already-printed material follows immediately. A static code cannot be changed after printing, because the destination is physically part of the pattern.
